Many of these photos were taken at the Tel Aviv annual gay pride parade, largest gay pride parade in Asia in June of 2017. On August 3rd 2017, Yishai Schlissel stabbed six marchers at another pride parade in Jerusalem. Yishai Schlissel is a radical ultra orthodox Jewish man who was released recently after finishing his 10 year sentence for stabbing supporters marching in the same pride parade back in 2005. Israeli officials immediately made clear that this was radicalized behavior, with many officials making statements showing national support for the gay pride movement in the hours following.
